On September 30, 2016, we issued a progress review regarding EEOC’s Open Government initiatives. We found that EEOC has completed several Open Government efforts, and made substantial progress in others. Completed efforts include: developing a system allowing charging parties to view the status of their charge online; increasing dialogue with the public; posting information in plain language; and implementing key government to government electronic transactions. Areas of substantial progress efforts include: posting of data; implementing a digital charge system; and updating the Open Government web page.
Our report also discussed EEOC’s Digital Accountability and Transparency Act of 2014 (DATA ACT) initiative(s). The DATA Act requires the government to standardize all of its financial information for analysis across contracts, programs, and agencies. By May 2017, agencies are to begin reporting financial data according to the new standards. We reported that EEOC intends to meet the date.
